Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions the district hears most often.

Because the district’s systems are built across steep elevation changes, water pressure varies from property to property. Bear Mountain Water District guarantees a minimum of 35 PSI at the service connection.
The Uniform Plumbing Code for Washington (WAC 51-56-608.2) requires a pressure reducing valve where water pressure exceeds 80 PSI. Because pressure in our systems changes with elevation and demand, the district recommends a PRV on all homes.
Lakeview, Bandera, SSWA, Karma Kanyon, Clos Chevalle and Grandview are on the Bear Mountain / Lakeview system. Hawks Meadow and Hawks Ridge are on the Hawks Meadow system. If you are not sure, check the service area map or call (509) 670-4088.
